I recently ported my line from Circles.life to Zero1, and along the way stumbled onto a promo mechanic clever enough that it genuinely tipped me over into switching. This post covers both: the actual porting experience, and why the promo itself is worth understanding properly before you sign up for any Zero1 5G plan.
Quick summary: I signed up for Zero1’s Streamo Bold (4G) plan at $10.10/month, which comes with permanent 5G+ enabled because I ported in from a non-Singtel provider. The sign-up itself was smooth; the only real friction was mail delivery timing, which is more a postal issue than a Zero1 one.
Why Zero1 in the First Place: It’s on Singtel’s Network
Before getting into the promo mechanics, worth explaining why I was looking at Zero1 at all. Zero1 is an MVNO running on Singtel’s network — the same underlying infrastructure as Gomo, ZYM, and Vivifi, three other MVNOs I’ve covered in my best value mobile plan roundup.
Network coverage has consistently been my top priority when picking a mobile plan, ahead of price. My experience with Singtel’s network, through Gomo specifically, has been the most consistently reliable wherever I go — I go into this in more detail in that roundup, including a rough patch I had with a non-Singtel network provider that eventually pushed me to switch. That track record is a big part of why Zero1 was even on my radar as a serious option, rather than just chasing the cheapest plan available regardless of network.
The Promo That Caught My Eye
Zero1 is currently running a “Stay 3 Months, Enjoy the Next 3 Months FREE” promotion for non-Singtel port-ins, valid until 31 August 2026. I signed up for their Streamo Bold (4G) plan at $10.10/month, which comes with:
- 600GB local data monthly
- 5G+ Enabled*
- 30GB roaming to 198 worldwide destinations (365 days)
- 15GB roaming Asia Pacific monthly
- 600GB roaming to Malaysia, Indonesia & Thailand (365 days)
- 300 mins IDD (V019) monthly
- 300 mins local outgoing talktime monthly
- 100 SMS local outgoing monthly
- Unlimited incoming calls & SMS, with free Caller ID
That asterisk next to “5G+ Enabled” is doing a lot of work, and it’s the whole reason this post exists.
Why This Promo Is Actually Clever
Here’s the mechanic: Streamo Bold is priced and marketed as a 4G plan. But if you port in from a non-Singtel provider, Zero1 enables 5G+ on it — and I wanted to know exactly how long that lasts before I committed.
I went looking, and found genuine confusion about this. On one of Zero1’s Facebook promo posts, a user asked directly: “A bit lost. Those 4G plans but 5G enabled, is for port in customers from non-SingTel or their MVNO? 5G is forever?” Another user asked the same thing more bluntly: “Is 5G+ forever or for only 180 days.”

Zero1’s own official page replied directly: “it is forever for non-Singtel network port-in customer.” Another commenter confirmed the same thing separately.
So here’s the actual distinction, per Zero1’s own terms and conditions:
- Port in from a non-Singtel provider (Circles.life, M1, StarHub, Maxx, MyRepublic, etc.) → 5G/5G+ is enabled permanently on Streamo Bold, at 4G pricing.
- New subscribers getting a brand new number, or port-ins from Singtel or a Singtel-network MVNO (Singtel itself, GOMO, Heya, ZYM, Vivifi, CMLink) → 4G access only. No 5G+ trial period mentioned — this is a genuine 4G plan for these subscribers.
That’s a genuinely clever piece of plan design. Zero1 gets to advertise a rock-bottom 4G price while quietly delivering a 5G+ experience to exactly the customer segment they most want to win over — people leaving a competing non-Singtel MVNO. It’s not a bug or a fine-print trap; it’s a deliberate acquisition strategy, and once you understand it, it’s a genuinely good deal if you qualify.
Pro-tip: Don’t currently qualify? You can still get there. If you’re on Singtel, GOMO, or another Singtel-network MVNO, you can port to any non-Singtel provider first, then port that number over to Zero1 once the first port completes. It’s a bit of a detour, but it’s a legitimate way to unlock the permanent 5G+ pricing — as long as you’re not locked into a contract. This is the magic of SIM-only plans.
You don’t need to overthink which provider to detour through either. Some of the cheapest SIM-only options right now: Maxx from $7.90/month, MyRepublic from $6/month for 150GB (confirmed as a limited-time offer, so don’t expect this rate to be permanent — check the current price before committing), and Circles.life from $8/month. Any of these should work as a quick pit stop. There have been cases with some providers, despite marketing their plans as fully contract-free, telling customers they need to stay at least 2 billing cycles before terminating — so double-check the current terms before treating it as a same-day in-and-out.
One sequencing detail that matters: make sure you’ve actually activated the SIM with the intermediate provider, and confirmed that activation went through, before you sign up with Zero1. Don’t jump straight to Zero1 the moment your port to the non-Singtel provider completes — wait until the line is properly active first. Skipping this step risks Zero1 not recognising the port-in as coming from a genuinely active non-Singtel line, which could put your permanent 5G+ eligibility at risk.
Zero1’s Full 5G Plan Lineup
Since this post is now really about Zero1’s 5G plans broadly, here’s where Streamo Bold sits against Zero1’s other current offerings. If you want the fuller picture of how Zero1 compares against eight other Singapore MVNOs, I’ve covered that in my best value mobile plan roundup — this section is just about Zero1’s own range.

One naming quirk worth knowing: Movemo Vibe is shown with a “5G+ Enabled*” line right on its own official plan card, same as Streamo Freedom and Movemo Dash. The real distinction is in the plan name itself — Streamo Freedom and Movemo Dash both carry “(5G+)” directly in their branding, while Movemo Vibe doesn’t, even though the spec sheet treats all three identically. Worth knowing if you’re skimming plan names rather than reading the full spec card.

Movemo Vibe still deserves a special mention for a different reason: its terms explicitly state that 5G/5G+ access applies to all eligible new subscribers, whether you’re signing up for a new number or porting in an existing one, regardless of which network you’re porting from, effective from 1 August 2026. That’s a meaningfully different mechanic from Streamo Bold, which only unlocks 5G+ for non-Singtel port-ins specifically. Movemo Vibe isn’t a conditional trick — it’s simply a genuinely good, guaranteed 5G+ plan at 4G-tier pricing.
One caveat worth flagging honestly: I’ve also seen a Zero1 ad describing Movemo Vibe’s 5G+ access with the same restriction as Streamo Bold — port-in customers only, excluding new mobile lines and Singtel-network users. That’s different from what the live terms and conditions state. There’s also this, straight from Movemo Vibe’s own T&Cs:
Clause 1 explicitly states: “The promotion is available for a limited time only.” That’s a real signal that even the universal 5G+ access described in clause 3 might not be a standing plan feature — it could be part of the same time-limited promotional package as everything else on that T&C page, not a permanent fixture. I’m not certain whether this reflects a genuine update in progress, an inconsistency in Zero1’s own marketing, or whether Movemo Vibe’s current universal 5G+ access is itself a limited-time arrangement that could change. If guaranteed 5G+ regardless of port-in source is the deciding factor for you, it’s worth checking Zero1’s current T&Cs yourself before signing up, rather than relying solely on what’s written here.
My actual recommendation, given all of this:
Movemo Vibe’s own terms and conditions confirm this is a limited-time promotion, not a permanent plan feature — so the real question when you’re signing up is simply whether it’s still live. If 5G+ is still available on Movemo Vibe at the time you sign up, get that — at $12/month, the value is hard to beat, and it’d be among the cheapest guaranteed 5G+ plans on a Singtel network right now, well ahead of the sub-$10 4G-priced plans (like Streamo Bold) that only unlock permanent 5G+ for non-Singtel port-in customers specifically. If the promotion has ended by the time you check, get Streamo Freedom instead — the standard, most affordable Zero1 5G+ plan at $15/month, which is more than enough for the average user.
Upgrade to Movemo Dash if you’re a frequent regional traveller and want the extra roaming headroom (45GB RoamAP and 800GB local data) that the other two don’t offer.
My Porting Experience: Circles.life to Zero1
I signed up online on 31 July. Since this was my own line, verification was straightforward — no ownership mismatches to worry about here, unlike the saga I went through porting my mum onto Gomo.
At checkout, Zero1 gives you three delivery options for your SIM card:
- Courier delivery
- Mail delivery (regular post)
- Self-collection at their office
I went with mail delivery. In hindsight, this was the one part of the process I’d nitpick.
Timeline:
- 31 Jul — Signed up online.
- 1 Aug — Received an email confirming my order had been mailed out.
- 5 Aug — SIM card actually arrived in my mailbox. Same day, I downloaded the Zero1 app and activated the SIM.
- Within 48 hours — SIM activation confirmed, and 5G+ was live as promised.
Four days between the “mailed out” notification and the SIM actually landing in my mailbox is the only real friction in this whole process — and that’s a last-mile postal delivery issue, not something I’d pin on Zero1 itself. If you’re not in a rush, mail delivery is fine. If you want your line up faster, courier delivery or self-collection at their office are probably the better options.
Beyond that, the experience was genuinely straightforward: sign up, wait for the SIM, activate via the app, done.
One thing worth clarifying upfront: you actually register your Zero1 account right at sign-up, before your SIM even gets mailed out — not at activation. So by the time my SIM arrived on 5 August, I already had an account. That made this next part genuinely confusing:

Pro-tip: check your email’s exact capitalisation. Turns out the issue wasn’t that I hadn’t registered — it was that Zero1 had stored my email with different capitalisation than what I’d typed. For example, if you sign up with john@example.com, it might get registered in Zero1’s system as John@Example.com. When you then try logging in with the exact casing you originally typed, the app may not match it and throws “User account was not found.” If you hit this same error and you’re confident you registered, check the confirmation or welcome email Zero1 sent you at sign-up — it usually shows your registered email exactly as it’s stored in their database. Try logging in using that exact casing, or log in via your mobile number instead (the app supports both) if you’d rather skip the guesswork.
Once I got past that, activating the SIM itself was straightforward. From the app’s home screen, SIM Activation sits right under Explore Services:

Tapping into it, I had to choose between activating a physical SIM Card or an eSIM — since I’d gone with a physical SIM via mail delivery, that was the obvious pick:

From there, Zero1 lays out the whole activation process upfront as five clear steps — enter the SIM serial number, verify via Singpass, consent to MyInfo retrieval, wait for activation, then done:

I worked through all five, and got this confirmation almost immediately:

While the port-in and activation were being processed, I could check progress anytime under My Service Management, which showed my number sitting at “Pending” alongside my full Streamo Bold plan details:

True to what Zero1 told me at submission, the whole thing — port-in and SIM activation — was done within 48 hours.
One more thing worth mentioning: I’m actually using this Zero1 SIM in my mifi device, and can confirm it works well there too. I’ll be writing more about my mifi setup separately — will update this post with a link once that’s ready.
My Zero1 Referral Code

If you’re signing up for Zero1, feel free to use my referral code: Z18QNTY1
Here’s how it actually works, per Zero1’s official Refer & Earn programme:
- You (the new subscriber) get a S$1-S$2 rebate off your second bill, depending on the plan you sign up for.
- I get the same S$1-S$2 rebate on my own bill, credited within 3 months once you’ve successfully paid your second bill.
- To qualify as a new subscriber, you need to not have had an active Zero1 service in the past 3 months, and you can’t share the same NRIC/FIN as me.
- Rebates are automatically applied as bill credit — they can’t be split, transferred, or cashed out.

How to redeem it: Enter Z18QNTY1 in the Referrer Code field at checkout when signing up for any eligible Zero1 plan.
Disclosure: I earn a referral credit when you sign up using code Z18QNTY1. One rule I stick to: I only recommend products and services I actually use myself — referral reward or not. Looking for more? I keep all my active referral codes across telcos, apps, and services in one place: Referral Codes Singapore.
The Verdict
If you’re currently on a non-Singtel provider, Streamo Bold at $10.10/month is genuinely hard to beat — you’re paying 4G pricing for what functions as a permanent 5G+ plan, confirmed in Zero1’s own terms.
If you’re on Singtel or a Singtel-network MVNO, know going in that Streamo Bold gets you 4G only, full stop — no trial period, no eventual 5G+ unlock. Your options from there: do the two-step port to qualify for Streamo Bold, go with Movemo Vibe at $12/month if its 5G+ eligibility holds for your sign-up, or fall back to Streamo Freedom at $15/month for a plan with zero ambiguity attached. See my recommendation breakdown above for the full reasoning.
Either way, the actual porting process was smooth. My only real gripe was mail delivery taking its time — worth choosing courier or self-collection instead if you’re not the patient type.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Zero1’s 5G+ on the Streamo Bold plan permanent or a trial? Per Zero1’s terms and conditions, non-Singtel port-ins get 5G/5G+ enabled permanently. New subscribers getting a brand new number, or port-ins from Singtel or a Singtel-network MVNO (GOMO, Heya, ZYM, Vivifi, CMLink), only get 4G access — there’s no trial period involved.
How do I qualify for permanent 5G+ if I’m currently on Singtel or GOMO? As long as you’re not under contract, you can port to any non-Singtel provider first, then port that number to Zero1 afterward. This qualifies you as a non-Singtel port-in for the permanent 5G+ benefit on Streamo Bold. Alternatively, Movemo Vibe at $12/month may give you 5G/5G+ regardless of your port-in source per its terms — though see my caveat above on some conflicting ad messaging — or Streamo Freedom at $15/month if you’d rather have zero ambiguity.
When do I actually receive the free months from the “Stay 3, Get 3 Free” promo? For Streamo Bold specifically, Zero1’s official terms state you’ll receive 3 months of free subscription applied to months 4-6, after completing your first 3 consecutive months on the plan. You need to stay subscribed for that full qualifying period to receive it.
How long does Zero1 SIM card delivery normally take? Per Zero1’s own support documentation, standard delivery is 1 business day for processing plus 3 business days for delivery. Port-in cases can take longer, subject to approval from your previous (“donor”) telco. My own delivery took a few days longer than the standard estimate, which lines up with this being a port-in rather than a fresh sign-up.
Are there charges if my port-in to Zero1 is unsuccessful? Yes — if the port-in fails, Zero1’s terms state you’d be liable for a $21.80 cancellation charge, plus a $5.45 SIM card cost if it’s already been delivered to you. Worth double-checking you meet all porting requirements before signing up.
Does Zero1 run on Singtel’s network? Yes, Zero1 is an MVNO operating on Singtel’s network infrastructure.
What’s the difference between Streamo Bold, Movemo Vibe, Streamo Freedom, and Movemo Dash? Streamo Bold ($10.10/month) only gives 5G/5G+ to non-Singtel port-ins — everyone else gets 4G only, with no trial. Per Zero1’s current terms, Movemo Vibe ($12/month), Streamo Freedom ($15/month), and Movemo Dash ($20/month) all come with genuine 5G/5G+ access regardless of where you’re porting from, with Movemo Vibe being the cheapest of the three and Streamo Freedom/Movemo Dash offering more roaming inclusions. That said, I’ve seen some conflicting ad messaging on Movemo Vibe specifically suggesting its 5G+ may also be port-in restricted — worth double-checking before you sign up if this is the deciding factor.
