Went for my first ever major running event last sunday!
Signed up for the 10 km "Competitve" run!
Oh well, the run was categorised under "competitve" but i doubt my friends and I ever treat it as well, we just wanna complete the run in an acceptable timing thats all!
I took slightly under an hour! I considered it good effort as prior to that I actually stop running for a month (ya i know! very very lazy!!!) but hell, I still can run ye~? The fastest runner that day clocked something life 30 minutes for 10km!
The event was BADLY ORGANISED IMHO!
1. The marshalls were not doing their job.
They were basically standing and chatting with their friends instead of telling us where to run, there wasnt any OBVIOUS directions at all, and you cant help but to feel frustrated that firstly, you got no idea where to run, and then the next thing you see are the so-called marshalls talking cock....
2. No OBVIOUS directions!
Ya, no OBVIOUS directions, signs, arrows... whatever you call it... ZERO! I ran till the "fun" category 5 km finish line and no one say anything... I was still thinking "can't be so short what...." and I gotta look around before I found the route to continue my run... CRAP!
3. Goodie-bag queues!
They got 3 tentage for goodie bags collection.
They got 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 different queues to the same collection point.
So which is which ?
Can't the marshalls help out ? get the freaking queue in orders ?????
In the end , i just went in from the exit point to collect then i fuck off....
FRUSTRATING!!!
4. Bag-depositing service collection.
I deposited my bag before the run.
After the run i went to collect my bag.
I had the fright of my life!!!
Bags are thrown out of the trucks like some rubbish!
Bags lying around the floor, anyone can come and take them!
Organisers at the truck holding up the bag and shouting number like some auction site.....
It took me half an hour and a serious thought that my bag might be lost (many others got that same view as well) before I finally see my dear bag again...
I believe this problem can be solve by better organisation from the organiser part...
Like every 1000 bag to a certain truck or counter ?
that will make things so so much EASIER and FASTER!!!
Enough said..
Next up is the Army Half Marathon!
Signed up for 21 km ! This one definitely need some training.. kaoz...
Looking forward to the Standard Chartered 42 km Marathon at the end of the year! Wish me luck (and lots of will power to consistently train) guys!
ciao~
