
31/5 marks World No Tobacco Day (WNTD)!
It doesnt need any nagging from me, to tell you the harmful effects of smoking, all these had been said and repeated again and again by your teachers, parents, friends, colleagues and the media.
I dont advocate smoking either. Smoking is BAD!
When I ask smokers why they smoke , I always hear the same excuses,
1. Its a habit liao.
2. I very stress, smoking takes away my stress~
They are excuses!
Habit can be "rehabited". Nothing is impossible if you try. Most are just plain lazy to quit smoking and use "habit" as the easy way off the hook. If you are determine to quit, no one can stop you! but likewise, if you don't wanna quit, who can force you to ?
As for the stress part, that's an even lousier excuse, i bet i can find VERY STRESS people on the streets easily, and i doubt everyone of them smokes! I am stress too! But i don't smoke just cause i am stress! There's so many ways to deal with stress! Like me, you can just run it off~ running builds up your fitness, its much better than smoking in more ways than one, and yep, its CHEAPER too in SINGAPORE~ where the tax on ciggies runs SKY-HIGGHHHHHHHH!
So dear friends out there who smokes, be it for yourself, for your parents, for anyone, or for your pocket, quit smoking ~ that's my wish! =)
